Zoe Boyd – Graduation Recital
Zoe is trumpet player based in Perth who is at the conclusion of her time at WAAPA and is excited to present her graduation recital. It will consist of original music which she has been writing and working on throughout this year. Her compositions and musical approach draw inspiration from a variety of influences including Kenny Wheeler, Roy Hargrove, Ambrose Akinmusire, and Blue Mitchell to name a few. Expect to hear a range of different music – mostly in a modern/contemporary jazz style.

Callum Thomson’s Graduation Recital
Come down to the Ellington Jazz Club to catch jazz drummer Callum Thomson as he wraps up his time at WAAPA with a tight 40–45-minute set showcasing a selection of music he’s gathered throughout his WAAPA journey. Joined by his long-time friends, collaborators, and sibling—Finn McKibbin on bass, Jeremy Thomson on guitar, Flavio Colonetti on piano, and Josh Parker on tenor saxophone—this performance promises an unforgettable night of dynamic interplay, rich grooves, and heartfelt expression. Don’t miss what’s sure to be one of the best recitals of all time, packed with energy, soul, and impeccable musicianship.
Rohan Guy: The Space Between
Rohan Guy, an understated Jazz Guitarist is excited to present The Space Between – A Jazz Recital. With a mix of original compositions and some personal favourites Rohan draws upon influences such as John Schofield, Pat Metheny and Kurt Rosenwinkel. Expect to hear a range of styles from thoughtful ballads to pumping fusion. A night not to be missed.
Blake Freeman’s Graduation Recital
I’m excited to share this recital with you as part of completing my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance. This performance is a chance to showcase some of my original compositions and arrangements, and I feel very lucky to be joined by some incredible musicians and friends: Aaron Caldwell, Flavio Colonetti, Finn McKibbin, and Lindsay Bush. I have really enjoyed putting this music together, and I hope you enjoy the sounds, the energy, and the conversations that are to come.
