As the patrons who pass through our doors and the musicians who perform on our stage alike will attest: The Ellington Jazz Club is Australia’s best jazz club. Featuring the cream of Australian talent, both local and interstate, in an intimate environment. World class music and warm hospitality in a music focused environment.
Reservations can be made for table seating online and we ask that you arrive and are seated before the performance begins. If you have missed out on a table seat or have not booked, there are some bar stools available in the bar area. Be sure to arrive early to snap these up!
The Ellington Jazz Club strives to present a wide range of musical styles including jazz, jazz derivatives, and jazz influenced music. We value gender equality, racial diversity and sexual orientation for our performers, staff, and patrons, with all being welcome. We strive to present the highest quality music possible in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment for all. The Ellington is a seven night a week jazz club that presents more than 500 shows per year and is internationally recognised as a wonderful place to perform and listen to music.

Monday – Sunday: 6pm
No, our website and all tickets display the time our doors open for each show.
Start times vary from artist to artist but these are the most common start times:
6pm doors = 7:30pm show
10:30pm doors = 11pm show

The Ellington is a performance based venue and we ask that conversation is kept to a minimum during performances. However our 10:30pm sessions on Fridays and Saturdays and selected other shows are louder, and talking is not a problem.
Smart casual dress is recommended.
When you are buying tickets, enter the name of the attendee on the “YOUR INFORMATION” page. On the purchase page, where you enter credit card information, you can purchase the tickets with any credit card you like.
Our menu varies seasonally, but always includes our hand stretched 12 inch pizzas, and snacks. We have a vegan and gluten free options available.
We serve all classic cocktails, house and top shelf spirits, varying tap beers, bottled beers, ciders, delicious local and international wines, and French champagne
As you book seats rather than entire tables, on busy nights you may be asked to share a table. If you would like to guarantee a table for two then there may be an option on the website for this when you book (not available for all shows). If you book four or more table places, you will most likely have a table to yourselves.
Tickets are only valid for the duration of the booked show. If you would like to guarantee a place for a subsequent show, we recommend booking online for both shows.
The Ellington is a licensed venue our management policy is that minors (under 18 years of age) must be signed in at the door by their parent or legal guardian and must be accompanied by their guardian/responsible adult at all times whilst in the club. Minors may not approach the bar at any point. Consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden by minors and is an offence punishable by law.
Due to the change in ownership in April 2023, all gift vouchers purchased prior to their take over can only be used for ticket entry. Please call the office on 9228 1088 Tuesday-Friday (12:30pm-5pm) or email info@ellingtonjazz.com.au to redeem your tickets.
Cash, EFTPOS, or Ellington Jazz Club Gift Cards. Our website uses Paypal. Please note that we do not accept American Express.
The upstairs area is available for private events and on rare occasions the downstairs area may be available. Generally we are open for concerts 7 days a week. Enquiries for private events can be sent to functions@ellingtonjazz.com.au
Yes. There is an option on the website for people to choose to sit with members of a group. For groups larger than 10, you may be divided into two groups of tables. It is also possible to book space in our upstairs lounge.
Most shows are two one hour sets with a half an hour break in the middle. During FRINGE WORLD season, most shows will run for only one hour, with some exceptions for late night shows.
You should always gain permission from the artists first if you are carrying out professional photography. Some artists do not allow photos at their concerts. Personal photography/videoing for social media etc. is fine. We ask that you do not use your flash. Please feel free to share your photos and videos to social media, tag us on Instagram @theellingtonjazzclub, or check in on Facebook at The Ellington Jazz Club – Perth.
The bar area is always first come, first served. There are limited bar stools at the back of the room, so if you arrive early enough you may be able to secure one.
Doors open at 6pm. We recommend you aim to arrive at the billed door time as performance start times vary from artist to artist. Please be aware your tickets may be forfeited if you arrive after the show starts if you provide us with no notice.
Yes. Please quote your booking number or booking name at the door and we will show you to your table.
There are student rates, please see individual shows for pricing.
Yes, we take requests and make every attempt to accommodate them, however it is not always possible to give you your requested table due to seating logistics.
General Admission refers to patrons who have not purchased a membership.
Jazz Standard / Student applies to patrons who have purchased a Jazz Standard Membership and show this card on entry or to students who show their student card on entry.
Duke Duchess applies to those who have purchased a Duke/Duchess membership and show this card on entry.
