Vocal powerhouse Allira Wilson will be joined by Harry Mitchell, Ben Vanderwal and Karl Florisson to perform beloved jazz standards. The group share a long musical history through numerous collaborations across the Australian jazz scene, allowing the music to unfold with ease, trust, and a level of interaction that only comes from years of playing together. Expect timeless repertoire with Wilson’s inimitable voice at the centre.
Harry Mitchell is a jazz pianist hailing from Perth, Australia. Having released 18 albums as a leader, Mitchell has established himself as a prolific musician in the Australian jazz scene. In 2017, he was awarded the title of Young Australian Jazz Musician of the Year at the Australian Bell Jazz Awards, followed by the West Australian Music (WAM) award for Best Pianist in 2018. Additionally, he won the WAM Best Jazz Song award in 2017, 2018, and 2020. Mitchell has performed at various music festivals across Australia, including the Perth International Jazz Festival, Brisbane Jazz Festival, Sydney Con Jazz Festival, Melbourne Jazz Festival, the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues, and the Ubud Village Jazz Festival in Bali. In 2021, he was selected as a finalist in the Wangaratta Jazz Festival’s National Jazz Awards piano competition. Mitchell has also played with a range of artists, including, Charlie Watts, George Garzone, Vincent Gardner, Sarah Hanahan, Veronica Swift and more.

Allira Wilson is one of Australia’s most exciting and sought after vocalists. An Australian Jazz Bell Award winner, she has worked with notable artists and ensembles such as Jamie Oehlers, Kate Ceberano, Jim McNeely, Gian Slater, Guy Sebastian, Barney McAll, Invenio and WASO. She is featured on records such as Alice Humphries’ ECILA, the Rick Webster Project, Freddie Grigson’s Duos and Barney McAll and Gian Slater’s collaboration Global Intimacy. Wilson released her album Rise and Fall in 2014, which was given a 4-star review from John McBeath in The Weekend Australian, saying: “Wilson took out best Australian jazz vocal award at the 2014 Bell Awards and this debut album signals the arrival of an important new voice.” She released I Am Like The Rain- The Music of Paul Simon on ABC Music in July 2020. She continues to work regularly in Australia’s jazz venues and is a mainstay on the jazz festival circuit right across Australia. She has performed at the Perth International Jazz Festival, Melbourne Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival and Melbourne’s White Night Festival.
