What better way to start your Autumn, than with a matinee show at the Ellington celebrating the change of seasons.
Tim Parish is joined by Special Guest Artist, Michael Heap and Vincent Colagiuri on piano to serenade you through all the colours of the season with lush ballads, charming melodies and songs rich in Autumn colour. As the Autumn leaves begin to fall, this program, rich in songs both beloved and unexpected, is crafted to appeal to lovers of trad jazz, ballads and evergreen songs. Tim Parish’s signature performances, paired with the rich Baritone notes of Michael Heap, filled with music, joy and laughter are sure to captivate you.
Tim Parish has established an eager and dedicated following for his lush vocals, extensive range and versatility of musical performances. A regular at the Ellington, in recent years he has sung in numerous solo shows and in collaboration with Libby Hammer and with fellow baritone Michael Heap as the duo ‘Beautiful Beasts’. His sold out shows include, ‘Beautiful Beast Bonhomie’, ‘Fella Sings Ella’, ‘Shall We France?’, ‘Entre Nous’, ‘Ultra Lounge A-Go-Go’, ‘It Might as well be Swing’, ‘Dude does Doris!’, ‘A Little Bit Lost’, ‘Melodies Oublie’ and ‘Springtime in Swingtime’ just to name a few. Tim’s unique and distinct style was developed over years of training and a devotion to traditional Jazz for which he developed a passion from childhood while listening to the music spinning from the records of the great jazz performers as well as the more obscure “lost” stars of the 30s and 40s. With an innate feel for the jazz mode, be it the lightest of tunes or the most lush of ballads, Tim Parish gives each song a personal touch that keeps audiences coming back for more.
Michael Heap has had a fascinating and diverse musical career with a long and illustrious background in classical performance and opera. In recent years he has taken his classical training into new performance spaces and delighted audiences with his magnificent voice and his ability to captivate them with his sympathy for the tone of each song.
