After their sold out show in January, Stellar Moon & the Dark Knights are back in Perth for one night only at the Ellington Jazz Club!
Bold & powerful presence, music & message. Nyikina artist from the Kimberley, Stellar Moon, transports us through a journey of liberation. Strong vocals, funky riffs, country-rock overtones with a heap of soul, Stellar sings about all freedom’s facets; freedom of mind, social conditioning & inherited wounds, inspiring deeper connection to self & Country. She includes’ ‘Nyikina’ language & loves to engage with the crowd, to feel, to sing, to laugh!
Stellar brings 4 musicians all the way from Broome to join the 3 incredible musicians from Perth-band Yomiship, forming an amazing 7 piece band for the evening!

Maatakitj (AKA Clint Bracknell) is a Nyungar song-maker and guitarist from the south coast of Western Australia. His stage name means ‘legs like spears’ in Nyungar language, his mother tongue. Performing as Maatakitj, he has composed for and performed with the world-renowned Kronos Quartet, toured Australia with five-time Grammy Award winner Angelique Kidjo, and produced his debut Nyungar language album with ARIA Award winner Paul Mac. Recent tours have seen Maatakitj play at the Jamba Nyinayi Festival in Coral Bay, WA and at World Expo Osaka, Japan alongside and an ensemble of acclaimed Nyungar performers.
