JOVA makes its Ellington debut, bringing together four of Australia’s most accomplished jazz artists – all originally from Western Australia – to premiere new music written especially for this project. The group draws on more than 25 years of shared musical history, with a musical connection that has grown from decades of playing together on stages around the world. Adding to the occasion, this performance comes on the eve of JOVA entering the studio to record its first album – a chance for audiences to hear this music in its raw, debut form before it’s captured on record.
