Join the David Dower Trio for a one-of-a-kind live experience as they launch their fourth album, Sonder – a bold, genre-bending project recorded during their fifth tour of Bulgaria. Featuring the incredible vocals of Kizzy Davies, this performance blends Bulgarian vocal traditions with a fresh, modern sound.
A graduate of WAAPA, David has spent the past 10 years developing a musical relationship with the mysterious nation of Bulgaria. With his trio he has toured there five times, playing over 40 concerts including 5 festival appearances. He has also recorded four albums, collaborating with local singers and instrumentalists, to “create an atmosphere that you can pretty much guarantee you’ve never heard or even considered before” [Songlines Magazine, UK]. David’s compositions are rhythmic, emotive and playful – songs that groove, surprise and connect.
David is beyond excited to return to Perth and launch his album at the Ellington Jazz Club. With one of Australia’s tightest rhythm sections, this is a show not to be missed!
