About Cameron

Cameron Fermoyle is an Australian jazz drummer whose musical roots trace back to Perth, where an early love for rhythm grew into a dedicated artistic path. A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and now a Master of Music candidate at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, he has studied with renowned drummers including Obed Calvaire, John Riley, Dave Chiverton, Ben Vanderwal, and Kweku Sumbry.

He has performed widely across Australia, appearing at the Perth International Jazz Festival, touring the South-West, recording with ensembles such as WAAPA, WAYJO, and No Nomad, and playing multiple sold-out Fringe Festival shows. His versatility spans big band, small group, Afro-Peruvian ensembles, cabaret, hip-hop collaborations, and tribute projects ranging from Radiohead to Amy Winehouse.

A two-time scholarship recipient with an MSM Scholarship, Royal Overseas League Scholarship and as a finalist for the James Morrison Jazz Scholarship, Cameron has also participated in international programs including an exchange semester at the Frost School of Music and the Brubeck Institute Summer Jazz Colony. He has led his own projects, headlined the Lyric Lane Jazz Festival, and premiered original compositions in his graduation recital.

Driven, empathetic, and detail-oriented, Cameron aims to build a career that bridges artistry, community, and global performance, continuing to grow among the world’s leading musicians while bringing his dynamic, expressive drumming to audiences everywhere.
