Sydney pianist/organist Steve Barry and Danish expat guitarist Kristian Borring co-lead this powerhouse trio with Perth drummer Danny Susnjar. Hailed as “one of Australia’s most inventive and accomplished composer/improvisers” (Loudmouth), Barry’s work oscillates between contemporary jazz, cross-cultural practice and contemporary art music with a lyrical melodicism and distinctly modern harmonic sensibility recently heard on his acclaimed album In the Waves (2023). Borring earned his reputation in London as “one of the most tasteful and accomplished guitarists on the scene” (Bebop Spoken Here), and has frequently performed in clubs and at festivals throughout the UK and Europe. He was recently cited as “a serious post-bop wizard” in Vintage Guitars Magazine (USA) upon releasing his latest album “Earth Matters” (2022) with the group Number Junky.
Together the trio pays homage to the quintessential sound and soul of the Hammond organ trio, while pushing the genre forward into modern terrain with a dynamic .

Dr Steve Barry is the Program Leader for Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His recent album In The Waves features drumming luminary Eric Harland (USA) and was praised by the Sydney Morning Herald as “…the finest instalment to date of the pianist’s bristling musical intelligence, rhythmic mutability, melodic flair and compositional gifts.”

Dr Daniel Susnjar is known internationally for his innovation and expertise in the field of Afro-Peruvian Jazz music. For a long time based in the United States, Daniel has performed and recorded with music legends including Steve Miller, Gretchen Parlato, Sam Rivers, Danilo Perez, Dr G Yunupingu, Chris Potter, Gary Burton, Pharrell Williams, Victor Wooten, Patti Austin, Gloria Gaynor, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Arturo Sandoval, to name a few.
