Step back in time with the Matt Cahill Combo as they artfully recreate the golden era of the Nat King Cole Trio. Journey through the smoky bars and intimate clubs of the 1940s, experiencing the authentic sounds of a stripped back jazz trio, skilfully distilled and performed just as the legendary King Cole Trio did in their heyday. Drawing inspiration from the masterful guitar work of Oscar Moore, Matt has handpicked a selection of iconic tracks from the Nat Cole Trio’s memorable recordings with Decca and Capitol Records. Let the classics like “Too Marvelous for Words“, “Exactly Like You“, “It’s Only A Paper Moon“, and “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66” sweep you into a nostalgic trance. Join us for a night of timeless jazz and tribute to one of the greatest trios that ever graced the stage. Matts last show sold out quickly, so to secure your spot, make sure to reserve a table and avoid disappointment. 🎶🎹🎷

Additionally, Matt has played alongside and supported Chris Isaak along with numerous international artists. Matt’s love and focus lies in Jazz, Swing and Roots music. Recently returned from playing the Jazz clubs of Spain, Matt eagerly anticipates returning to the The Ellington for an intimate night and celebration of the music of Nat King Cole!

Danny Moss Jnr
Internationally renowned double bassist Danny Moss Jnr is an unashamed disciple of the great Ray Brown! Time, tone, swing, and variation of lines depending on the soloist are the hallmark of his playing. Danny’s propulsive lines and ‘long note’ style have earned him a considerable reputation. Indeed one of Europe’s top piano players John Critchinson, (long time member of Ronnie Scotts quartet), dubbed Danny ‘The Pathfinder’ due to his driving and harmonically sympathetic bass lines on a recent European tour. Danny can be heard on many fine recordings with world renowned artists such as Danny Moss MBE, Jeanie Lambe, Sir John Dankworth, Don Burrows, John Wheatley, Martin Drew ,Scott Hamilton, Tony Coe and Simon Spillett.

Jackson Van Ballegooyen is an up and coming jazz and contemporary pianist from Perth. Jackson completed his Bachelor of Music at the James Morrison Academy in Mount Gambier where he joined Morrison on multiple tours around the country. In 2018, Jackson placed as a finalist in the prestigious James Morrison scholarship competition. Jackson now regularly performs with some of Perth’s best musicians, further establishing himself in the Perth scene.
