Nearly a year on from their last sold-out, highly acclaimed Ellington appearance, The Drieberg Brothers return for another night of musical adventure – shaped by time, travel, and ever-deepening connection. Expect the unexpected.
Since graduating WAAPA in 2022 with the Jazz Recital Award, Daniel Drieberg has built a diverse performing career across Australia and internationally. A recipient of the Golden Fiddle Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, he brings a stylistically fluid approach shaped by collaboration, improvisation, and multi-instrumentalism.
Joel Drieberg, a two-time James Morrison Jazz Scholarship finalist, is emerging as a dynamic and expressive drummer, currently refining his voice at WAAPA.
Joining them is pianist Flavio Colonetti, WAAPA’s 2025 Jazz Recital Awardee, briefly back in Perth before heading to New York to undertake Performance Masters on a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship. This performance marks a rare chance to hear him at the cusp of an exciting new chapter. Also featured is bassist Finn McKibbin, now in his graduating year at WAAPA and fast becoming a standout voice on the local scene. Special guests TBA.
Together, this ensemble brings a deep musical connection and a spirit of spontaneity, moving between original works, reimagined classics and modern favourites — drawing on ever-evolving influences from Immanuel Wilkins, Tigran Hamasyan, Shakti and beyond.
