The crossroads has been lore for generations of blues musicians – that tumultuous junction between one’s soul and their artform. In the same manner, the convergence of blues and jazz invokes a sense of danger, thick in the night air. For those daring to join the initiated, Beaufort Street crosses over into Beale as incisive jazz piano and soulful B3 intersects six-string twang and deep, driving shuffles.
An old guitar is tuned up. Hands exchange a binding shake. Another soul is claimed for the blues.
The Beaufort Street Blues Band are:
Trevor Jalla – guitar, vocals
Louis Rebeiro – hammond organ, vocals
Harry Mitchell – piano
James Marelich – drums
