Description: Join us as we play the music of one of the greatest saxophonists of our generation; Kenny Garrett. A prolific writer and virtuosic improviser, he has a large resume of studio albums.
Sounds From the Ancestors (2024), is one of his most recent studio albums and we will be paying tribute to this music as well as other, lesser known songs from his discography.
Helping me along this journey is an all star band of friends with big hearts and bodies full of music.

Aaron Caldwell is a saxophonist and composer based in Perth. His work spans genres and time periods, drawing heavily from the jazz tradition as well as more modern musical influences. He is a prominent performer and improviser, having various projects of his own whilst being an in-demand sideman for other musicians and bands such as Paperback Fort and Pareidolia. His writing is mature and numerous, being commissioned to compose and arrange for various people and organisations. Such as, for WAYJO in 2024 for their composer-in-residence program.
