After a year immersed in Melbourne’s vibrant music scene, drummer Zac Wise returns to Perth for a special homecoming performance at The Ellington Jazz Club. Reuniting with his close friend and virtuosic keyboardist Trevor Stockton, the pair aim to bring the stage to life for a late-night celebration of groove, chemistry, and community.
During his time in Perth, Zac quickly established himself as one of the city’s most in-demand and dynamic drummers. A First Class Honours graduate of WAAPA, he was a trusted collaborator and cornerstone of the local R&B, soul, and hip-hop community.
Joining him for this special performance is Trevor, a close friend and fellow WAAPA graduate. Widely regarded as one of Perth’s finest homegrown talents, he brings over a decade of experience to the stage. Since relocating to London, he has continued to build an impressive global career supporting a plethora of world renowned artists and – more recently – touring throughout the UK’s theatre circuit.
Together, Zac and Trevor return to their roots, bringing a deep musical understanding and connection forged over years of study and late night jams. Backed by a handpicked band, Pocket Language will lean into the duo’s shared love of R&B, soul, and hip-hop – bringing beloved tunes to life with spontaneity, feel, and an unmistakable late-night energy. Think; Bilal, Erykah, Maxwell, D’Angelo, and Bobby Caldwell. This is not one to miss.
