Born in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, through the fusion of African rhythms and European dances, Choro is steeped in history and led to the creation of genres such as Bossa Nova, Samba and more.
Now, two decades since it’s creation, Choro is stronger than ever and is exploring Australian lands!
With band members hailing from Brazil, Sri Lanka, Italy and Australia, ‘Perth Choro’ brings together world-class musicians from all around the globe, who now call Perth home. Passionate about the musical style, they will present a memorable performance at the most renowned jazz venue in the city, the Ellington Jazz Club, as part of the Perth International Jazz Festival. Performing in its most traditional formation with 7 string guitar, Bandolim, Cavaquinho, Pandeiro, Clarinet, Flute and Accordion.
