Young Melbourne drummer Oscar Edwards is preparing for a significant move to the UK to take up the sole undergraduate jazz drums position at the Royal Academy of Music in London. A 2025 James Morrison Scholarship finalist and 2025 VCASS graduate, Oscar has established himself as a prominent emerging voice in the Melbourne scene, performing alongside top musicians such as James Sherlock, Mark Fitzgibbon, Julien Wilson, Anton Delecca, Grant Windsor, Tamara Murphy, Hugh Stuckey, Ben Robertson, Daryl McKenzie, Gordon Goodwin, Darrin Archer, James Shortland, Miro Lauritz, James Bowers, Zoe Frater, and many others, as well as being the drummer in the Daryl McKenzie Jazz Orchestra.
For this performance at The Ellington Jazz Club, Oscar leads an ensemble of elite Perth-based musicians presenting both standards and original compositions. This show marks his first ever performance in Perth, and his last before commencing his studies at the Royal Academy.
