Join award-winning cabaret artists Penny Shaw and Robert Hofmann for a sophisticated, hilarious and musically dazzling afternoon exploring love in all its gloriously imperfect forms.

Featuring songs inspired by disastrous romances, unlikely couples and relationships that were doomed from the very beginning, Mismatched! blends opera, musical theatre, cabaret and comic storytelling with music by Sondheim, Bernstein, Lloyd-Webber and more — plus a few delicious surprises along the way.

With the brilliant Joshua Haines at the piano, these seasoned performers will transport audiences everywhere from Downton Abbey to Downtown New York in a sparkling evening of soaring vocals, sharp humour and theatrical flair.

CREATIVE TEAM

In addition to their cabaret work Penny Shaw and Robert Hofmann are both regular principal artists with West Australian Opera. Joshua Haines, one of Perth’s most acclaimed and versatile pianists, is a favourite at The Ellington Jazz Club.

Penny recently received the 2026 Performing Arts WA Award for Outstanding Performer in a Supporting Role for Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, is one half of comic opera duo DivaLicious and is a regular MC for Freeze Frame Opera’s much loved Christmas at the Quarry. Robert has performed numerous principal roles including Marriage of Figaro, The Mikado and La Traviata. Robert’s previous hit cabaret shows include Desperately Young at Heart and What the Fandango?!.
