Join Christian singer-songwriter Mariah Hlatywayo and her incredible band at the Ellington Jazz Club for a one-night-only celebration as she launches two brand-new singles – “Under the Sun” and “This Is Your Purpose.”
Blending vibrant Latin American rhythms, heartfelt folk and country storytelling, rich jazz harmonies, and soulful funk and gospel grooves, Mariah’s music is inspired by her faith, multicultural background, and life experiences. The evening will also feature songs celebrating her Sri Lankan heritage, including a special reimagined arrangement of an audience favourite.
Be amongst the first to hear brand-new songs never performed before, inspired by Mariah’s journey of faith and her experiences as a new mum. Alongside these new releases, enjoy favourites such as “My One and Only One Jesus” and “Ain’t Nothing Like a Cloud,” as well as a selection of original songs from across her journey – some performed as you know and love them, and others reimagined with fresh arrangements created especially for this concert.

More about Mariah:
Mariah Hlatywayo (Lutch-why-oh) is a Perth-based singer-songwriter and drummer whose music blends faith, culture, and storytelling into a unique and soulful sound. Drawing from her Christian faith and life experiences, Mariah weaves together influences from gospel, jazz, pop, world music, folk, and country to create songs that are heartfelt, uplifting, and deeply personal.
Growing up in a musical family, Mariah developed a passion for music from an early age and graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2015 as a jazz vocalist. Since beginning her original music journey in 2021, she has continued to release powerful and engaging songs, including Lennon Award-winning “My One and Only One Jesus” (2021) and WAM Song of the Year-nominated “Ain’t Nothing Like a Cloud” (2023).
Mariah has shared her music across Perth’s live music scene, performing at venues including Lyrics Underground and the Ellington Jazz Club. Known for her captivating vocals, dynamic performances, and honest songwriting, Mariah continues to connect with audiences through songs that explore faith, identity, purpose, and the moments that shape our lives.
She looks forward to sharing new music with audiences in October 2026, including two brand-new singles and a collection of songs inspired by her journey as an artist, a person of faith, and a new mum.
