An enduring voice in Western Australia’s blues landscape, Lightnin Jack brings a deeply personal and unvarnished take on the form — where rhythm, tone and space speak as loudly as the notes themselves.
Performing solo in the intimate surrounds of The Ellington, Jack pares things back to their essence. With multiple guitars, foot percussion and a voice worn in all the right places, he creates a sound that is both expansive and commanding — a one-man performance rich in texture and feel.
His songs drift between smoky instrumentals, slow-burning blues and driving, percussive grooves, each piece delivered with a quiet confidence and a deep connection to place. There’s a sense of the country in everything he plays — open, grounded, and unmistakably authentic.
Recipient of the 2025 Inaugural Rick Steele Blues Artist of the Year (WAMi), and having shared stages with the likes of The Southern River Band, Phil Emmanuel and Tony Joe White, Jack has long been recognised for his craft. Here, in a seated, listening-room setting, the focus turns fully to the music — honest, immediate, and without distraction.
A rare opportunity to experience Lightnin Jack up close, Alone with the Blues is an evening not to be missed, for long time fans and new introductions alike.
