Afro-Cuban powerhouse, La Influencia is the brainchild of timbalero, Salvador Persico (Blue King Brown), and pianist Daniel Mougerman, (The Bamboos). Joined by vocalist Marcelo La Greca, they perform original music, as well as the music of modern Cuban legends Alain Pérez and Havana D’Primera.
For this concert, they will join up with the WAAPA Latin Ensemble’s blasting horns and rhythm section for a scorching night of red-hot salsa, infectious cha-cha-cha and soul-stirring Mambo and Rumba!
La Influencia holds a monthly residency at the Night Cat, Melbourne and has performed at festivals including White Night, Melbourne International Jazz Festival and the Johnston St Fiesta.
