Karl Morgan returns to the Ellington with his brand of original blues and soul.
Karl recorded his first album, ‘Talkin’ with the Hands’, in Sydney with his Perth band, and with help from Sydney’s own Clayton Doley on keyboards. He then travelled to Nashville where he recorded his second album, ‘Burning Heart’ with his US band, based in Austin, Texas, and again with the help of Clayton Doley and also Jimmy Wallace of Kenny Wayne Sheppard fame on keyboards. Karl then spent years honing his live show in the Live Music Capital of the World, playing all the famous stages of Austin, Texas, including Stubbs, Momo’s, One-2-One Bar, Saxon Pub and Antone’s.
Karl’s style is his own – a potent mix of searing guitar, soulful vocals and poignant songwriting that is both rocking and moving. His current band features Bronton Ainsworth on drums, Joe Powell on bass and Chris Travaligni on keys – as well as special guest vocalist Sophie Foster.
