From Musical Theatre’s wild side, fiery-haired songstress Kara Lane – star of Rebecca the Musical and Addams Family the Musical on London’s West End – ignites the stage in her sizzling new cabaret, 50 Shades of Red – a musical journey through the many emotions the colour red dares to reveal. From the blush of first love to the heat of forbidden desire, from the flames of obsession to the burn of heartbreak and fury, Kara paints the town red with her bold and vibrant voice.

About the Artists
Kara Lane is a Rockhampton-born performer currently based in London. After training in classical voice, acting and dance in Queensland and Sydney, she has since built an international career across musical theatre, cabaret, television, film and recording. Theatre credits include productions at the London Palladium, the Gillian Lynne Theatre, the Gielgud Theatre and Charing Cross Theatre in London’s West End, as well as major UK and international tours of The Addams Family, The Sound of Music, The Rocky Horror Show, Mary Poppins, Oliver!, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Phantom of the Opera. More recently she appeared as Mrs Danvers in the original English production of Rebecca the Musical in London, Minky in Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical at Manchester Opera House, and Alice Beineke in both the UK touring and London Palladium concert productions of The Addams Family, starring alongside Michelle Visage and Ramin Karimloo. Screen credits include appearances in the Hallmark feature Mystery Island, and BBC’s Doctors.
Simon Beck is one of the UK’s most respected musical directors, conductors and accompanists. Most recently he has collaborated on a series of acclaimed legacy concerts featuring Lorna Luft celebrating her mother Judy Garland, Hal Cazalet celebrating his step-great-grandfather P.G. Wodehouse, and Liz Robertson celebrating her late husband Alan Jay Lerner. In concert he has served as music director and pianist for artists including Cynthia Erivo, Stephanie J. Block, Andrew Lippa, Karen Mason, Sally Mayes, David Bedella and Richard O’Brien, as well as accompanying the London debut of the Broadway institution Sondheim Unplugged. His theatre credits include The Boyfriend, The Rocky Horror Show, Sweet Charity, Ruthless, End of the Rainbow, and tours of Legally Blonde, Spamalot and West Side Story (50th Anniversary). He was also Associate Music Director and featured solo pianist for Monty Python Live (Almost) and featured pianist for Barbara Cook & Friends.
