In celebration of her 30 years on the world stage, award-winning singer-songwriter Juliana Areias, The Bossa Nova Baby, brings her authentic Brazilian style to this colourful concert blending iconic and contemporary MPB songs & timeless bossa nova classics with an exquisite selection of originals.
Juliana Areias has performed on major stages around the globe, including the Sydney Opera House, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, the Green Room in New York, and Rio’s legendary Beco das Garrafas – where bossa nova was born.
Her acclaimed original album Bossa Nova Baby won Best Brazilian Album at the US Focus Brazil Awards and reached the US Top 100 Jazz Charts. A five-time Western Australian Music Awards nominee, her music was considered “the changing face of Australian music” by ABC Radio National and praised as “excelling in elegance” by The Australian in its four-star review.

For this celebrative concert, Areias is excited to invite her long time friend and sensational soloist Edu França (Brazilian Al Jarreau like), to join her on stage with the groviest line up – Joshua de Silva (seven-string guitars), Francisco Munhoz (drums) and Damasio Celio (percussion).
