When The Ellington Jazz Club opened its doors in 2009, it filled a void Perth didn’t know it desperately needed. Founded by professional musician Graham Wood and businessman Bernard Kong, The Ellington was born from a passion to create a dedicated space for live jazz in a city lacking intimate performance venues.
Housed in a heritage-listed former dye works building from 1896, its New York-inspired interior quickly set the tone for something special — an atmosphere where music wasn’t just heard but truly experienced.
