Join saxophonist Josh Parker as he debuts an exciting new catalogue of jazz music alongside a band of Perth’s finest musicians. The night will largely feature original compositions which will feature on Parker’s upcoming album, to be released shortly after this outing, as well as some favorite jazz standards. This will be an evening of explosive improvisations, intricate interplay and interesting new songs.
About Josh Parker
Josh Parker is a saxophonist and composer based in Perth who performs regularly, in a wide variety of musical settings. While studying at WAAPA with saxophone master Jamie Oehlers, Parker was featured in Dingo Jazz Magazine as an emerging artist and performed as a soloist with Paul Grabowsky (AO), Frank Gambale, Ron McClure, Stu Hunter, Will Vinson et alia. After leaving WAAPA in 2024 with First Class Honours and the Honours Recital Prize, he released his debut album and performed a sold-out album launch at the Ellington Jazz Club, where he continues to play regularly. As a member of ’40th Parallel’ he has played in Melbourne, Albany and Denmark, as well as recorded on their studio albums. In 2025 he featured on a track on Gunfu’s EP ‘Gunfu Two’ and has recorded for many other local artists including Brushtail, Anna Dabbs, Sleepy Soph and Riyana. He also performed with the legendary punk band The Saints at a sold-out Freo Social. In 2026 he recorded on Bob Tweedie’s upcoming album ‘Microscope’, and Parker continues to perform weekly with many artists all around Perth. In 2026 he is set to record and release a new album of original Australian Jazz music.
