Calling Perth Tappers of all ages and abilities for an afternoon of music, an opportunity to dance with a live band, and connect with other members of our small, yet thriving community.
Tap Dance in Perth is booming after the inaugural Perth Tap Festival earlier this year, and having an opportunity to showcase our skills in a judgement-free environment is an opportunity we’ve long wished for. We will have a list of Jazz standards to get us going, and have moments for all levels as well!
If you’ve never jammed before, that’s ok! We encourage you to come along and have a go, even if you’re unsure or uncertain; opportunities like this don’t come around every day! In the lead-up to the event, we will provide you with more information so you’re not going in completely blind. Our house band will be announced very soon! To ensure this event runs smoothly, please contact us to confirm your participation, so that we can organise accordingly.

Not a jammer but love tap dance? All are welcome to witness this amazing event at this spectacular venue!
About your hosts
Our hosts for this event are two integral members of the Perth Tap Community, Oscar Langmar and Leanne Driel.
Oscar Langmar is a tap dancer and teacher originally from Sydney and is about to complete his Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) at WAAPA. He has been a fan of Tap Dance since the ripe age of 4, inspired by the golden age of cinema. He recently did a sellout show at the Ellington called (A Little Lad with) Giant Steps, showcasing his Tap Dance, Vocals and Saxophone! He has just finished playing Romeo in WAAPA’s production of & Juliet at the Regal Theatre.
Leanne Driel is a Perth-based tap dancer and teacher who has studied the art of dance extensively around the globe. She is faculty at the Australian Tap Dance Festival and Perth Tap Fest, and is highly sought after for her choreography and tap pedagogy. Leanne holds two teaching certificates from the American Tap Dance Foundation in NY as well as a Comdance Theatrical Teaching Certificate. Her many performance and choreographic credits include Sole Mates and Lucha Royale at Perth Fringe Festival, Stray Cats Theatre Company, Fiesta Choreographers’ Ball, Lady Velvet Cabaret and the Australian Tap Dance Festival. Leanne dedicates all her performances to all the amazing tap artists who paved the way throughout history.
This event takes place both on stage and in the round, and seating is unallocated.
