Doors 6pm
Show 7pm
Hailing from Warwick, Perth, Luke Fowler has spent the last 20 years in Europe where he has been gigging and running various projects with some of the greatest old Jazz legends of the UK including, Alan Barnes, Art Themen, Dave Barry, and the not so old Dave O’Higgins (there ya go Dave) and Simon Spillett as well as some of the younger generations.
Whilst being an in demand session bassist in London, He also managed to find the time to open a venue/craft beer pub in London called The Junction which was named by The Guardian Newspaper as “top 10 Music Pubs in the UK”, curating 6 performances a week (sunday was comedy night). Luke has been gigging, running a venue and hosting teaching workshops and other community projects around south London for around 17 years. Now he and his lovely wife Nel Begley (an incredible talent in her own right) have decided to move back to beautiful Western Australia to raise their two kids.
This will be a great show with a mixture of straight ahead jazz and Luke’s own compositions, with a few special guests and a fabulous local Perth band consisting of the remarkable; Russell Holmes – Piano, Kristian Borring – Guitar and Pete Evans – Drums.
Hopefully we will get to see you on this lovely evening of tunes and laughs to “blow the froth off a couple”!!
