For thirty years, Libby Hammer has been bringing her engaging and affable style of jazz to stages all around the Perth jazz circuit. Whether she’s being comic or poignant, or executing the occasional burst of virtuosic scat, Libby’s renditions of well-known (and not-so-well-known) jazz standards never fail to delight.
Libby’s jazz groups show her at her artistic finest, interpreting standards and obscure gems alike with aplomb and emotional finesse. Likewise, her quartet, tonight comprising Chris Foster on piano, Nick Abbey on double bass and Michael Perkins on drums, will swing to the absolute limits of their cookin’ best.
