Taiko-On are the 2025 recipients of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation, presented by Consul-General Karimata.
Their vibrant yet intimate performace is a musical confluence of Japanese festival tunes and modern percussion influences, brought to you by 4 of the performers of the 2022 FRINGE WORLD award-winning show ONSEN.
After a string of sold out performances at The Ellington, the Quartet is back with magnificent Taiko Drums, earthy Didgeridoo, ethereal bamboo Flute and voicework. Be prepared for a new style of taiko show arranged specially for the Ellington – a synthesis of each musician’s unique studies, reflecting rhythmic and melodic fascinations on the theme.
