Everyone knows that good things come in threes – the Triforce, Red Shells, Halo games – and Gamer Jazz! Now back for its third year at FRINGE WORLD, Gamer Jazz is putting a jazzy twist on even more of your favourite video game soundtracks.

Saxophonist and bandleader James Sewell takes an S-Tier team of players on a speed run through the history of video game music, featuring quirky reimaginings of everything from the classic Nintendo themes of Koji Kondo to the sweeping orchestral sounds of Martin O’Donnell.

About the Presenter

Performing professionally in Perth for nearly a decade before relocating to NSW, James is in demand as a band leader and session musician. He fronts the high-energy outfit “Brass Party”, and plays with acts from a variety of genres, from hip-hop to jazz. Alongside the Empire Band, he has been putting on award-winning FRINGE WORLD shows since 2023.
