Show 7pm
If you haven’t seen this band playing your favourite chart-topping hits from the 70’s 80’s and 90’s, then you’re in for a real treat! Coming straight off the back of multiple sellout shows, the Midnight Rollers are on a mission to reinvent some of the greatest tunes in rock and pop history, with their inimitable big band style!
Get your tickets now to the finest Jazz establishment in Perth, The Ellington Jazz Club, our musical home away from home, and party the night away to tunes you know and love, rearranged as nature intended – covering every style that a big band can offer, from Swingin’ Jazz, and New Orleans second line street funk, to LA Hip Hop, Mambo, sultry cabaret, and everything in between.
The Midnight Rollers will have you toe-tapping and fancy-free from the first note to the last – you may pay for the whole seat, BUT YOU’LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE!
“You guys make these tunes sound better than the originals!”
“I couldn’t believe you could make that song sound so good!”
The Midnight Rollers are;
Shameem Taheri-Lee – Divinely inspired vocalist, beautifully unique and multi-award-winning soul songstress.
Marty Pervan – Obnoxiously high and loud Trumpet, MD, and herder of cats.
Matt Knight – equally at home in a sombrero or sporting the “Jazz Casual” look, at his own gigs, Matty brings his trumpet greatness and comedic leanings (as seen on various social media videos) to every musical situation.
Steve Bickley – Trombonist of South Australian lore. Loves a long drive, and a good hill climb. *Not from Snowtown… honest…
Bill MacAlister – There is no better musical pedigree in this town! First call trombonist to the travelling music community and all-round legend… if you’re lucky you may he may tell you an anecdote about one of your musical heroes – often one that’s inappropriate, and you DEFINITELY won’t find in any books!
Ben Collins – Alto Saxophone and reeds specialist, and master pun-ologist! Ready to bring you some Sax-ual healing – it’s something that’s good for you…
Dan Hart – Tenor Sax legend that is an absolute rock god in his spare time. THIS is the energy he brings to the Tenor Sax chair!
Alex Boyd – Bari Sax legend of mythological proportions… lightning-fast reaction time and pinpoint accuracy, useful for many situations… some call him a dark horse… some know him as the shadow… we call him “Sir!”
Tom Salleo – The Piano man’s, Piano man of Piano men. Previously a trombonist but saw the light and moved to an instrument that would earn him some money. When he says he’s going for a swim, it might be to Rotto.
Tom Berkmann – recent import from Europe, via the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, quickly building a solid reputation as a top-class player of “basses of all kinds”. Before you ask – it’s a normal sized bass… he’s just really tall!
Mike Pigneguy – International Drumkit Super-Star, can count in tunes in about five languages! Next generation influencer and extremely active composer. *Disclaimer – he may not be able to count in tunes in five languages.
