Perth’s own progressive jazz group, Sky Machine, are bringing their epic soundscapes back to The Ellington for a night of mind-bending improvisation. Fresh off the release of their album and accompanying graphic novel, the band will be exploring compositions from their recent release.
Sky Machine’s debut album is a fusion of jazz, funk, prog and metal. It blends intricate compositions with expansive, otherworldly soundscapes. The music is thematic and immersive, drawing listeners into a rich universe where jazz improvisation meets science fiction.
Complementing the album, the graphic novel explores a cosmic narrative, weaving an expansive story of conflict, mystery, and tragedy. Through striking visuals and compelling characters, it deepens the experience, making Sky Machine more than just a band.
