Voyage is a new project from Perth based Saxophone player and composer Oliver Taylor that draws inspiration from the joys of unplanned discovery within improvised music and how each musician’s own life experiences and musical backgrounds influence this. Join Oliver and his band as they showcase all new music composed by himself and the members of the band as well as imaginative interpretations of modern classics.

For each performance Oliver puts together an all-new ensemble of musicians whose studies of improvised music have taken them to different parts of the world. For this performance we are lucky to be joined by some of the finest musicians that Perth has to offer. Drummer Cameron Fermoyle has carved out a name for himself in Miami and New York and has been accepted to study a Master of Jazz at the prestigious Manhattan school of Music. Also joining us is Perth heavyweight and Wangarrata National Jazz award finalist Alistair Peel, who has been accepted into the highly competitive “Focusyear” program in Basel, Switzerland.

Be sure to come by and catch some of their last gigs in Perth for a while. Expect to be taken on a journey, with an evening of unplanned musical exploration and experimentation like you’ve never heard before.
