Most Ellington regulars will know the story of ‘Girl’, ‘Boy’ and ‘Other Girl’ as told by this team of diehard Burtsters, but as we all know, the rollercoaster ride of emotions unleashed by no less than 31 of Bacharach’s classic golden hits can be especially tumultuous during the festive season. And the Christmas edition of Bringing Back Bacharach is exactly that, with four of Burt’s inexplicably weird Christmas songs seamlessly woven into Perth’s favourite Bacharach singalong, so you won’t even notice they are there until you exclaim, ‘What in tarnation is this song?’.
Will ‘Girl’ ever get to San José? Will ‘Other Girl’ ever go back to Tulsa? Will ‘Boy’ ever fall in love again? And will he ever get the eggnog stains out of his safari suit?
