Chris McNulty featuring Adrian Galante

Friday 12 November 7.00pm

Following their inaugural, sold out event this past September along with the magnificent audience response, internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Chris McNulty once again teams up with young, virtuoso clarinettist and pianist, Adrian Galante for an unforgettable night of melody and song, swinging and improvising across traditional and contemporary landscapes. However, it’s their equally passionate love for the great American Songbook that brings them together for a string of dates including festivals on the East Coast. The soul, artistry and technical prowess of these two formidable talents traverse the likes of Ellington and Strayhorn, Michel Legrand, McCoy Tyner and Freddie Hubbard including enduring favorites by artists such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella, Streisand and Tony Bennett. Joining them will be heavy weights, Harry Mitchell, Nick Abbey and Mike Perkins.

“…the singer’s story telling gift has you hanging on every phrase. She also contributes a brace of originals, featuring jazz singing of the highest order. McNulty has never sounded more at ease with her mastery.” –– Peter Quinn, Jazz Wise UK, 2013

“Exquisite….McNulty applies poignant jazz chops to the vocal, while accomplishing the impossible, the expression of her story through song….making listeners rethink the meaning of why we love jazz..” –– 5 Stars Blaine Fallis, All About Jazz, July 2015

“Adrian Galante isn’t just a hugely gifted, young musician with impeccable technique, monster ears and great pitch. He has something else. That rare, indescribable thing we call magic. With a deep connection to the great American songbook and jazz cannon, artistry like this comes from deep within the soul. It was there very early on with Adrian which might explain why other artists much further along in their journey are so thrilled to share the bandstand with him.” –– Chris McNulty, jazz vocalist-composer, author
