Juliana Areias - La vie en rose in Ipanema - end of the year show
Sunday, 11th December @6:30 PM

If Edith Piaf was Brazilian and Carmen Miranda French how would their music sound?

After 2 sold out nights at the Ellington with her Bossa Nova Baby concert and a recent performance at the Ritmo Festival at Darling Harbour in Sydney for 30.000 people, the Bossa Nova Baby, Juliana Areias is back presenting a new show with a Brazilian-French twist.

Fasten your seat belts and free up your imagination to enjoy a stunning night of breathtaking French classics and other finely selected tunes which have a French connection – interpreted with a Brazilian touch, grooves and accent – displaying the French influence within Brazilian Music and Jazz.

The concert will embrace timeless classics by Edith Piaf, Henri Salvador, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Joao Bosco and Carmen Miranda.  On board with Juliana Areias on this sensuous musical journey, are some of the top, most versatile musos  in town: Cathie Travers -accordion, Glenn Rogers-guitar, Adam Springuetti-bass, Marcio Mendes -percussion/backing vocals and Mike Boase-drums.

Brazilian chanteuse Juliana Areias has lived for many years in Europe (Switzerland) and New Zealand prior to moving to Australia. Always working in the music circuit, her career includes a performance at the revered Montreau Jazz Festival. Her authentic Brazilian voice, sense of groove, engaging charisma and a very personal and passionate stage presence are the trademarks of her work.

On the following drop down menu choose either table or bar. Table is seated, bar is standing. On busy nights small parties (1-3 people) share at the table. We have a range of tables that seat between 2-6 people.

You need to book one ticket per person, not the number of tables, so change the box which defaults to “1” to the number of people you are paying for. We will organise the tables according the number of people you book for.

If you have a group coming together but paying separately, nominate a group leader, and in the “comments” section of the online booking form, as the leader books, he/she tells us how many places to save, then the others paying independently put, for example, “Jane’s table” in the comments section of the online order form. This way we can be sure to seat your party all together. If you are coming singly or as a group and want to join another group, also tell us in the “comments” section.
