Arthur Gracias and his World of Indojazz

The mystic world of Indojazz comes alive with Arthur Gracias,  the originator of this hypnotic genre  which is the synthesis of Indian classical Ragas and rhythms with its inherent jazz harmonies. Is about building  bridges between Nations, cultures and people and  spreading the message of peace, love and joy.
 
He has been performing in India every year at the Rennaissance Cultural Centre, Weavers Studio and recently at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium with Masters of Indian Classical music .
 
Arthur is an Internationally acclaimed Guitarist, Keyboardist and  composer of award winning documentaries and feature films such as Beyond The Himalayas (music from Central Asia) Patang, Gudia, Dekha and Yatra with film maker Gautam Ghosh and “Night in the twelfth year”(an Indo Italian production by Sergio Scappagini) he is a dedicated musician having performed with legendary musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Steve Lacy, Steve Potts, Ustad Nanku Maharaj, Ustad Sabir Khan, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya and Pandit Tanmoy Bose.
 
Tonights performance will feature the various moods  and colours of Indojazz and contemporary jazz sounds. a hypnotic experience not to be missed. Accompanying him are veteran jazz drummer Glen Walsh and Mohan Sathyanath on the mridangam ( percussion).
 
Cd’s will be sold at the venue at a discount.
