It has been nearly two years since Jono McNeil left Australian shores to pursue his singing career in London. Having featured as the vocal front man for such bands as The Jive Express, The Roast, The Resonance and the Mace Francis Orchestra (MFO), Jono is no stranger to the Perth music scene. Since then, he has wasted no time in the UK, playing with the likes of Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai), Brian Henry (Chaka Khan, Brand New Heavies), Tom Richards (Jamie Cullum) to name a few. Jono has also reunited with his long time collaborators, Andy and Simon Fisenden and Grant Windsor, some of Perth’s most celebrated exports, performing his original shows to packed-out venues right throughout London. He has been involved with several collaborations with dance producers, (Soundmasters, Seamless Records) along with several highly reputable jazz, fusion and funk collectives.
He returns to Perth for a fly-in fly-out visit to play two very special shows at The Ellington. Featuring some of Perth’s finest; Graham Wood (keys), Simon Jeans (guitar) and Ben Falle (drums), Jono will be performing two hard-hitting shows, featuring songs from his album ‘Places’. There will be some brand new material and you will have the chance to pick up his new single for yourselves. Come and be a part of these exciting nights.
