Jeff Martin with J Cortez
Monday, 5th April @7:30PM

JEFF MARTIN (formally of the Tea Party) returns to Australia in April with J Cortez from The Armada.
Jeff Martin will be performing the best of The Tea Party plus an array of his solo offerings and a few newly found treasures from The Armada which brings back a lot of what The Tea Party made so special… the blues, the mystique, the Indian and Middle Eastern influences - in a nutshell: the magic!

“…His voice is monstrous, his guitar and razor-sharp instrument of aural death, cutting you down in swathes” - Inpress

In addition to Jeff’s elegant and powerful voice, his music has endeared itself to a rabid fan base on the strength of its rich palette of colour and sheer adventurous scope. This is an exceptional opportunity to see two international performers in an up close and personal setting.

Not yet a resident of Australia, but our beloved gypsy can't be kept out, with a new album penned and studio time booked for November in Byron Bay at Studio 310, and the 'The Ground Cries Out', The Armada Live in Sydney, CD / DVD set for release in May through MGM. Jeff Martin will be touring nationally to promote the release, 'The Ground Cries Out' Tour will feat: J Cortez (The Armada) to spread the news and to play new tracks from his forthcoming solo studio album and classic Tea Party / Armada numbers
JEFF MARTIN - Releasing his debut solo album in 2006, Exile and The Kingdom and quickly followed by 2 live albums - the double CD Live in Brisbane with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble and the most recent , Live In Dublin in 2007.

JEFF MARTIN BIO
Jeff Martin was raised in Windsor, Ontario and started playing the guitar at age 8. He formed his first band at age 11 and decided, then and there, that this is what he wanted to do with his life. In high school he was challenged by an older student to learn a blues-inspired Led Zeppelin song which inspired his father, a
blues fan, who turned him on to the blues standards. Jeff caught on quickly and could frequently be found jamming with professional bands from the Windsor Detroit area while still in his teens. During his teens he was also given a copy of The Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's album and his imagination was captured by the instrumentation of Within You Without You. Jeff developed a fascination with eastern tunings and instruments, a preoccupation he later indulged with great success as a member of the seminal
Canadian band, The Tea Party.

Jeff is also a producer. In addition to producing or co-producing all of The Tea Party's albums he has worked with artists such as Tenth Planet and Hundred Mile House and has recorded with David Usher, Conjure One and Todd Kerns. For more info on Jeff Martin check out www.jeff-martin.net or
