Fresh from their debut performance at the Perth Jazz Society last year, this exciting new quintet takes to the Ellington stage to present a program high-quality, high-octane original compositions and recompositions. Drawing on a range of influences, this exciting new quintet takes the rhythmic drive of groups such as Kneebody and the Claudia Quintet, paired with the textural and harmonic sensibilities of Nico Muhly and Ben Frost, and mixes them together with all the energy and pretentiousness of an indie rock band. Featuring some of Perth's freshest young jazz talent, Det Nopsus promises to deliver a night of electrifying original music.
