Song Lounge 4
Monday, 15th February @7:30PM

February boasts a first for Song Lounge: this will be the first show to feature artists from Eastern States: the Hussy Hicks.  In addition we welcome back the wonderful Dave Mann who packed out the house last time.  The night will open with newcomer Helen Shanahan who is one to watch out for.

Helen Shanahan
Helen Shanahan is a somewhat reluctant and accidental star in the making.  She never meant to perform the songs she’d written. They were personal and private reflections – written only because they naturally flowed from heart to lyric to guitar.

Helen’s songs, written while still at high school, ride the joys and sorrows of love and life and draw the listener into an articulate and heartfelt world of story, melody and guitar, through her eyes.

With more than 30 songs already penned, Helen is honing her talents in the Perth pub and festival circuit. She is doing the rounds of ‘open mics’, busking opportunities and private events, and gathering a strong following of fans that identify with her authentic style and lyrical storytelling.

Dave Mann
Dave Mann with his battle worn guitar has been travelling Australia and overseas, for the last five years performing his down to earth acoustic songs with passion and intimacy. Open-tunings, slide guitar and Dave's dynamic vocals create a rich combination of raw roots energy with soulful tender lyricism that cuts straight to the truth. So, with one of W.A.'s best bass players, Roy Martinez,  something very special is communicated. Always fresh and spontaneous. Forget pretences this is just quality music guaranteed. A bloody good show!

Hussy Hicks
Hussy Hicks live performances have been winning them fans from Beijing to Berlin & Norway to Nannup over the past 3 years. Their shows range from high energy funky folk hoe-downs to intimate and intricate murmurs with Leesa Gentz’s soaring vocals and internationally celebrated guitarist Julz Parkers eclectic gypsy/funk/acoustic style impressing audiences across all genres. The Girls are touring the country to launch their new album “a million different truths”.
