Located at 191 Beaufort St Perth (near the corner of Newcastle St), The Ellington Jazz Club offers live music up to 7 nights a week.

The Ellington Jazz Club is without a doubt one of Australia's finest Jazz clubs and a cultural institution in Perth city. Owners and founders Graham Wood and Bernard Kong had a vision to create a New York style Jazz club in Perth that would treat deserving artists with respect, while allowing patrons to see the world's finest jazz musicians in a intimate and comfortable setting. A programme of the highest standard of Jazz performed by artists ranging from international, to interstate and including local talent is a nightly feature.

Jazz is a diverse musical genre that embraces many different musical styles, and while The Ellington Jazz Club strives to preserve the history of jazz, the club is a place where progression and innovation - the foundations of jazz - are encouraged and practiced on a nightly basis. In addition to the mainstream Jazz acts that one would expect to see at a jazz club, The Ellington Jazz Club features the Late Night Groove Series on Friday and Saturday evening to showcase Perth's up-and-coming jazz, soul, and R&B artists in a Jazz club environment. In addition to this, the programme features everything from jam sessions, big bands, fusion groups, the finest vocalists, new music ensembles, Hammond organ trios and quartets and cutting edge improvising ensembles. A wide range of modern Jazz will be on show as the core business of our venue. The Ellington Jazz Club is instrumental in encouraging the development of Perth's local musicians by giving them a chance to perform in Australia's finest Jazz club.

In addition to the main Jazz club, The Ellington Jazz Club also offers an upstairs lounge area where patrons can relax and enjoy a drink away from the music performance area. This area can be booked for functions (see CONTACT US). Click here to view our Functions Brochure.

As Perth's most exciting live music venue, The Ellington Jazz Club will carry the torch for jazz into the 21st century.
