William Chiew Quartet

Tuesday 26 February 7.00pm

Born and bred in Perth, William Chiew is a drumset musician currently studying at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Since his musical debut with the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra in 2016, he has been performing heavily with the acclaimed organisation, branching out into the Max Wickham Quintet, Thomas Hamilton Quartet, Oz Big Band and Perth Cabaret Collective among others. Having first showcased his taste for musical composition in 2018, Will has performed his works throughout a selection of venues in Perth. Now returning to Ellington, he will be sharing some more of his musical tales with an intimate and creative band. Four will be taking the stage in a stylish conjuring of new melodies, those familiar warm vibrations we call music stirring up into a celebration of the human condition. Drawing influence from people and places, memories and aspirations, this music is intended as a form of meditation and reflection.
