TRISK ft. Chelsea Cullen & MACSHANE

Wednesday 09 October 7.00pm

TRISK is one of Perth’s premier improvising ensembles, well known for the joyous camaraderie and fiery musical rapport between bassist NICK ABBEY, drummer DANIEL SUSNJAR, and pianist CHRIS FOSTER.
These three renowned musicians have been repeatedly recognised by WAM, ABC, Freedman Fellowships, and the Jazz Bell Awards, including the recent 2018/2019 WAM Jazz Song of the Year. Between them, they have shared the stage with the likes of Pharrell, Chick Corea, John Scofield, Steve Miller, Take 6, Gloria Gaynor, Dave Grusin, Joshua Redman, Dave Douglas, Terence Blanchard, Bobby McFerrin, Optamus, Coin Banks, Macshane, Drapht, Downsyde, Kruger James, James Morrison, and Dave Guy and Ian Hendrickson-Smith (from Sharon Jones). The trio present high-energy and spontaneous jazz shows influenced by hip-hop, pop, folk, R&B, and world musics, fusing their unique sound with guest singers, instrumentalists, and MC’s.

This very special show will feature the incredible vocal stylings of CHELSEA CULLEN and MACSHANE (and possibly some others!), as the group builds towards a brand new collaborative studio recording in late 2019.
Expect a not-to-be-missed night of captivating new original music and great entertainment!
