The Trio Trio Presents: Trio Greats

Monday 13 May 7.00pm

Gearing up for a new 2019 album release, Harry Mitchell will be joined by the great Ben Vanderwal and Karl Florisson to present a program of arrangements from the American Songbook as well as music by the great piano trios, such as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Ahmad Jamal.

Expect to also hear songs made popular by Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday, and Duke Ellington that will make it worth coming out on a Monday night!

Collectively these musicians have performed/recorded with the likes of John Scofield, Charlie Haden, Hank Marvin,Tim Minchin, Luke Kennedy,  Charlie Watts, James Morrison, Chris Potter, George Garzone, Kate Ceberano and Aaron Goldberg.

Listen to the Trio Trio’s recent releases here:

Harry Mitchell is one of these luminary artists who can’t help making their presence felt. He’s been doing exactly that, since he started playing jazz piano (at 13), getting the chance to perform with the ‘who-is-who’ of Australian Jazz, not to mention icons such as Hank Marvin and a certain drummer called Charlie Watts. In the meantime, he has been evolving as a composer, creating music that bursts with energy and fervor.” –
