The Simmering Big Band feat. Bron Sprogowski & Stars of Tomorrow

Fresh from recent performances including with Michael Bublé – Nick Vayenas, the Simmering Big Band is playing its first gig at the Ellington on May 20th.
The band comprises  17 Education Dept teachers who have a love of jazz, improvising and big band music.
Many of the band members are well established in the WA Jazz scene and regulars at the Ellington. They include Benn Hodgkin, Adrian Hicks, Greg Brenton, Simon Jeans, Bron and Mark Sprogowski, Grant Rickman, Steve Searle and Simon Styles.
The band’s material includes Count Basie, The Phatt Band and many vocal styles from our gifted singer Bronwyn Sprogowski.
Another feature of the Simmering Big Band is its education profile and their night at the Ellington will feature select ATAR jazz players and hopeful stars of tomorrow.
The band and the Ellington program has been put together by Simon Styles a WAYJO original, Wangaratta Jazz Finalist, Jazz Yatra performer who has played on channels 2,7,9, and 10 and with Don Burrows, James Morrison, Toshiko Akyoshi, Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl, Ray Charles and many other jazz greats.
