The Music of Paul Simon - Featuring Allira Wilson and Harry Mitchell

Come and see two of Perth’s most in demand jazz musicians perform music by one of the worlds most prolific songwriters in an intimate duo format. Expect to hear music all the way from his early years with Simon and Garfunkel all the way through to Graceland.

Allira Wilson is one of Australia’s most exciting talents. Her music combines jazz harmony with a contemporary edge and soulful dynamic. Alliras debut album ‘Rise and Fall’ recently won the Australian Bell Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album 2014 and was recently ABCs Feature Album of the week. Wilson took out best Australian jazz vocal award at the 2014 Bell Awards and this debut album signals the arrival of an important new voice’ ( John McBeath- The Weekend Australian, 4 stars) 

Harry has performed with notable artists George Garzone, Jamie Oehlers, Julien Wilson, Carl Mackey, Troy Roberts, Matt Jodrell, Ben Vanderwal, Daniel Susnjar and Mace Francis. He has also performed with rock artists Charlie Watts (Rollingstones) and Katy Steele (Little Birdy) as well as recording with Hank Marvin (The Shadows). In 2014 he won the Woss Scholarship (best recitalist) at the West Australian Acadamy of Performing Arts for jazz studies, and in 2015 received first class Honours in jazz performance. In 2017 he was awarded Young Australian Jazz Musician of the year at the AUS Bell awards, as well as being awarded 2016-2017  and 2017-2018 WAM Jazz song of the year. He is currently performing regularly around Perth and across Australia a few times a year.
