The Music of George Benson

Thursday 26 October 7.00pm

Due to popular demand following two SOLD OUT shows, the Music of George Benson returns to The Ellington Jazz Club to celebrate the acclaimed, Grammy Award winning Hollywood Star.

A child prodigy turned international star, Benson is a formidable jazz musician, singer songwriter, renowned for his signature guitar rifts and scats.

His musical compositions cross boundaries between jazz and popular music in the most eloquent way imaginable.

George Benson’s music is melodic, pulsating and full of passion, rhythm and romance.

This evening, celebrate the music of George Benson with Grammy Award winning hits, “Masquarade” , “On Broadway” and signature pieces from his notable “Breezin” album.

Experience a taste of Benson’s earlier jazz influences including Wes Montgomery and relive his stunning scat rendition of “Ready Now That You Are”, originally performed with the Count Basie Orchestra.

The evening will also celebrate Benson’s association with Al Jerreau with smooth jazz favourites, “Let it Rain” and “All I Know” from their “Givin It Up” Album.

Benson’s influence in today’s jazz continues. It is highly infectious and guaranteed to move your heart and soul.
