The Graham Wood Commemorative Piano Fundraiser Show
Wednesday 01 May 7.00pm
The Ellington has had the greatest of fortunes to be blessed with custodianship of 3 beautiful full sized concert Steinway & Sons grand pianos for the last 10 years.
We have arrived at a point where we need to bring some fresh life onto the sacred stage of The Ellington. It is something that Graham and his fellow owner Bernard Kong discussed for many years.
With expert counsel from a highly respected panel, including Paul Tunzi, Tom O’Halloran, Harry Mitchell and Grant Windsor, we have arrived at a decision that will support us through another full decade and beyond of high quality music performance at The Club.
The Yamaha S Series we are receiving is a hand built instrument that has been ear marked by Yamaha Australia themselves as a perfect fit for the performance oriented stage at The Ellington.
We are hoping that the arts community of Perth would like to be a part of both The Ellington and Graham’s musical legacy by contributing to this brilliant new centrepiece.
We have recently experienced our 10th Birthday Celebrations and are so grateful for the outpouring of support – without every single patron that has ever walked through the doors of The Club and willingly supported the live music scene in this amazingly creative city of ours, we never would have made it this far.
If you’re unable to make it to the gig, you can donate to the piano fund here. We are eternally grateful to you – our wonderful patrons. Thank you so much for all your support!
