SOLD OUT - The Ellington Reopening with The Troy Roberts Quartet

Wednesday 15 July 7.00pm

Two-time Grammy nominated West Australian saxophonist & composer Troy Roberts is based in New York City where he maintains a busy performance and recording schedule around the globe with some of the greatest Jazz artists of today, including Joey DeFrancesco, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Kurt Eling, and is currently celebrating his 12th release, ‘Stuff I Heard’ (Toy Robot Music).
Troy had the pleasure of performing for The Ellington Jazz Club’s official opening back in 2009. While he is temporarily in Perth escaping New York’s current situation surrounding covid-19, Troy is delighted to perform again for the club’s re-opening following the recent lockdown. In contrast to his album release show this coming August, tonight’s show will be comprised mostly of Troy’s favourites jazz standards, and will feature his fellow US ‘escapee’ Tim Jago (guitar), Karl Florisson (bass) and Ben VanDerWal (drums). These guys CANNOT WAIT to play music for you all again!
